Is it possible to convert 3D line to 2D line? I have few objects created with 3D lines - they are on one surface - not in space - and I would like to modify them with tools available only for 2D objects.

please try the following way:
options - hidden line image, wireframe - wireframe
after this your 3D Objekts should have bin a changed in to 2D.
