I think this is the same issue I encountered a few days ago.

This is due to a Windows update.
You need to uninstall the ‘KB5066835’ update, update Windows Defender, and then reinstall the ‘KB5066835’ update.
Or, as I did, you need to reinstall Windows to fix it (there is an option for this in the Windows settings in the Windows Update area).
