[Frage] Unable to copy files within Project pilot - nothing happens

Schlagworte:
  • Allplan 2020

Hello,

we have 3 Allplan 2020 licences currently in use, and we are unable to copy files within Project pilot. When we try, nothing happens, no message, no warning. We have tried this on 3 different computers and did not have this issue before we upgraded from Allplan 2018.

We have the latest update installed (as of 11.11.2019)
We have a work around for the issue with copying files within the project, through copy/move command, however copying files between different projects and external folder is a problem, not to mention the process within the project takes a lot of time if you have many files to copy.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue or if it is a known bug and it's being worked on?

Thank you in advance

Hello,

Maybe this topic (in German forum) can help you: https://connect.allplan.com/de/forum/themen/topic/topics/sonstige-themen/projectpilot-schliesst-sich-nicht-automatisch.html.

It seems that you have to start the PilotProject as administrator at least once.
Then, the registry keys are created and you can use it even as user.
I think this is due to your Windows rights. Maybe check in this way...

Thank you for the fast response. I have tried what was suggested in the topic you've linked in your post. However, neither of the two solutions fixed it.

Things I've tried and did NOT fix the issue:

  • Running NemProjectPilot10.exe as admin.

  • Right clicking the "NemProjectPilot10.exe", going into "Properties" and under "Compatibility tab" checking the tick box "Disable full screen optimization"

  • Running Allplan 2020 as admin.

  • Trying to copy files in Project pilot launched within Allplan and as a separate client.

  • Fully updating Allplan

If someone who is more versed in German language can find something I've missed in the linked topic above, I would be most grateful.

Did you contact Allplan support?

Did you disabled your antivirus software?

I have contacted local Allplan support representative in my country but it's been a week already and I've not received a replay. Hence, why I started a topic on these boards.

I have disabled all antivirus softwear (including Windows defender etc...)

I've noticed that every time I attempt to copy within Project pilot, the screen blinks for a fraction of a second, however nothing happens.

I think there is something common on your 3 workstations if the problem is the same on the 3 ones.
What Windows version do you use?
Did you check your installation with "Allplan Performance Diagnostic" ("C:\Program Files\Allplan\Allplan 2020\Prg\NemCheckAllplanInstallation.exe") and "System Test" (download here)?
Are you sure that you have all the rights to read and write files?
Did you change something in the registry keys?
Are you sure that the paths to the folders saved in the registry are correct?

Nothing really comes to mind, they are all different workstations (different specs, manufacturers). They are also used by different people who set them up according to their own preferences. Only thing that might be considered as the same is that we all use Windows 10 professional as OS.

Windows 10 Pro with the latest updates.

I did just now and everything was indicated as ok.

I am working with admin account.

Did you change something in the registry keys?

Nothing to my knowledge, I guess chance of that happening on 3 different workstations is improbable.

I haven't changed anything after installation has been complete in regard to that, but if you could tell me how to check that in registry I will double check that as well.

Thanks again mate, I appreciate the help.

The paths are shown in Allmenu.
I think the best way to solve the problem is to get in contact with Allplan support.
They will do their best to solve the issue...
