[Frage] Anyone using a Mac? [Gelöst]

Hello

I'm looking at buying a new computer and I want to run AllPlan Architecture 2020 on it. Can you please tell me if you have experience running AllPlan on a Mac and what it's like? I'm especially curious about running it on one of the newer models with the M1 chip instead of an Intel chip.
Any information you can give me will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Allplan 2020 is not supported on the new MAC with M1 Chips. (but some users did solved to install 2020 on it)

But to be future proof:
In 2021 there will actually no support -> See hardware requirements:

as Allplan 2021 will need a processor with AVX support, it actually will not work.

Thank you very much for this reply.
So I can risk it with a Mac with AllPlan 2020, but it's not a good idea. That's good to know!

for "future" - todays version allplan 2021 - it is a not working idea, to buy M1

Namenlos gezeichnet in vollem Bewusstsein - ignorant, in eigen Augen vermutlich höflich, dennoch unhöflichst, unfreundlichst wer einen/viele vermutete - sich von alters erschließende Namen nennt.

Hello,

Do we know when allplan will be working on Mac M1 with windows 11 on parallels ?

Thank you .

Hello,

Apple M1 doesn't support AVX. Allplan 2021 and later need this AVX support.
So you can only install Allplan 2020 or previous versions.

These are the system requirements for version 2022.1.04 and above:

  • MacBook Pro or iMac from 2020 (Intel or M1 processor)
    32 GB RAM
  • 120 GB free hard disk space
  • macOS 12 Monterey
  • Parallels Desktop 17 Pro Edition for Mac
  • Windows 11, version 21H2 for ARM on M1 processor
  • The M1 processor from Apple is supported as of Allplan 2022-1-4.
  • Printer drivers for the M1 processor are not available for all printers. As a workaround, the drawing can be exported as a PDF and printed from a computer.
  • A trial license cannot be used under Parallels.
  • Since Parallels does not support current OpenGL, Allplan uses GDI+ mode; the graphics card is therefore displayed as "unsuitable" in the system text.

So it should be able to use Allplan on an Apple M1 system. Sadly I was not able to install version 22.1.04 because the installation halted at a certain point. Allplan Support is looking in to this at the moment.

Hello
Thanks for sharing this information, can you please share the Answer from the support, I am also interested in Allplan on m1
Best regards

Well, disappointment, they changed the page with the requirements and Windows 11 for Arm is no longer mentioned. This is the reply I got from support:
the development has analysed the files. The problem is your windows system - its the wrong one. You installed a windows 11 version for ARM processors and we need a windows 11 x64 (21H2) system. Because of the ARM version the windows system is missing certain folders in the system we need, as a result Allplan cannot wirte in it during installation. You need to install Windows 11 21H2 for x64. Then you sould be able to install Allplan.
With best regards,

Still not able to install it. The system requirements are still suggesting it should be possible:
https://www.allplan.com/fileadmin/user_upload/countries/international/pdfs/system/System_requirements_Allplan_2022_MAC_EN_GmbH.pdf

Also found a youtube movie from someone who got it installed in May this year:

Support says it is not working on Windows 11 Arm, but then again they ask me to try install some dependable packages, which install nicely. After informing them that those packages installed perfectly, no reaction anymore.
