( $post->getCrdate() + $this->settings['timeIntervalForOutTime'] ) > time() )

settings:
# Time interval in Seconds until a NEW post is out of time => no editing possible anymore if there are answers
timeIntervalForOutTime = 3600

Hello Jörg and Jörg,

I agree with Jörg (Nemo): a message already posted should not be deleted by a user even if he has additional rights. This changes the understanding of the different messages. And this has already happened several times in other topics.
It also seems to me that using extra rights with this mindset is against forum good practice.

So, why can one person in particular edit or delete his posts and not other big contributors like Nemo, or former Allplan employees like me, who, by the way, had all the rights including editing Typo3 (but I never took advantage of these rights to fix my own posts)?

Moreover, my message here (16:12) has been modified without any explanation. What justifies that?
And also, a signature with a political message should not appear on the Allplan forum.

Current rules are like this:
- users can modify or delete the post during the first 3600 seconds (not discusable as this was an wish from you guys and it is a good idea to remove )

- Forum Moderators can delete entries of other users. Following "terms of use", NO Notification must happen. (in case of spam)

- in case it makes sense, i will inform user by PM : "Reason why entry was deleted. Pleasse avoid ... "

- if Editing other users posts, it MUST be marker with a footer by forum Admin: (maybe i have to refresh this rule in other Admins mind as we have also a lot of new members in our family)

BTW: Quoting a message, that is deleted by the author, as he has changed his mind, looks like we are getting FaceBook Level Discussion?

Hi Jörg,

Changing your mind is not a problem. Just say it.
There was nothing confidential or requiring suppression in the deleted messages I mentioned.
Moreover, the content of each message is sent by email when you follow a topic, so even if it is deleted, you can still read it.
One could indeed see some contradiction in the content. This can happen. There is no reason to feel offended. On the contrary, it enriches the discussion, but we see that not everyone is ready to recognize his limits.
This is not a useless discussion as you seem to indicate. If Jörg has created this topic, it is perhaps because I am not the only one who finds this method inappropriate.

Anyway, have a nice weekend.

@Jörg
