[Frage] Bimplus_Document Notification

Schlagworte:
  • BIMplus

Is it possible to turn off the automatic sending of notifications to all team members when we share some documents? We publish about 15 PDF drafts, and we all receive 30 emails. We would rather not receive any mail or if it can be controlled to whom the mail will come, just one to let them know that we have added 15 new files to that folder.

Thank you for your answer!

It has been two years since the original post and another six months since the last updated question. The "already in preparation" solution still has no answer and I don't think I've seen any related changes in BIMplus. Any news about this?
The BIMplus portal is managed on a subscription based licence on our office example. This licence enables 6 active users and additional 24 read only guests - the portal lists this user team based folder under a "Projects>" level, despite the ability to form different projects on a sub-level. This is very confusing.

The user management is limited to a very basic structure and needs more options, as these can vary in different office structures. User management is limited to the BIMplus subscription and is not possible on a project level, which is terrible.

I think the user level schema in a BIM enabled project should have the following structure:
1. BIM Manager - this should be one admin level user and it shouldn't be a part of each team, but has to either have access to each and every project or a template project structure. This admin also takes up one active user licence by default which limits the number of real active users to 5 on a standard licence. I would suggest this admin level to be on a dedicated bim manager level and not part of the licence stack. You should add one dedicated BIMplus management licence and leave the active user licences on that level (1+5 or maybe even 1+6).
2. User management should be, as said, possible at project level, not the general BIMplus subscription level.
3. A single team owner per project, but with the ability for one user to have different status on different projects.
4. There should be an additional user status for a BIM Coordinator. The BIM Coordinator should have edit access rights to all model parts.
5. The rest of the team members should on a model basis have edit access rights limited to their model content.
6. User level and their access rights management should be possible also on the documents folder level or even on a single document level. Right now a document can only have three status versions, for which I even can't understand what they are for - undefined, private and public.
7 The ISO 19650 series suggests that documents should have either "wip (work in progress)", "shared" or "published" status. I know I can share whatever document I upload, but I can't set such status to any document. I suggest the "private" shold be replaced with "wip", the "public" with "shared" and there should be another "published" status possible. The same should be enabled on whole folder basis.
8. Notification settings. This should be enabled on user based level and additional user type level. I think the BIMplus users would like to have control over who and when gets any status or content change notification.

I could continue with my suggestions for quite some time, but I would be very happy if we could get any feedback on already given wishes and further BIMplus development timeline.

Kind regards,
miha

Hi,

sure this feature is already in preparation. User will have control of most Bimplus notifications with possibility to set whether to receive them by email/browser or not receive them at all. We see it as control on both team level and project user level.

If you have additional wishes/ideas to this topic, we will consider them.

That is great! Thank you for the opportunity for a wish list. Here are my suggestions:

- control e-mail notification for whom and when it is going to be sent, maybe to have a possibility to email weekly changes in project
- filter notifications per project
- filter notifications per documents, models, and tasks
- filter notification per new files and modified files.

I am also experiencing this "spam" of update emails. I am team admin for the company and I am added to every new Bimplus project automatically. So when project team members are sharing documents I also get an email of this and that is quite annoying because I receive multiple emails a day from projects sharing new documents.

Is there already a solution for this to prevent/control this? Like an option when uploading you only notify a certain group or members from within the project team, like Tasks in Bimplus?

Kind regards,

Nick

Ich kann mich dem nur voll anschließen, die Rechteverwaltung ist in der Praxis nicht wirklich effektiv.

Mit besten Grüßen!
